ABSTRACT

Research of Toxicity of industrial palm oil waste water and sub lethal test to Oreochromis sp. has been conducted on November 1st 2007 to March 1st 2008 in Aquaculture Technology Laboratory, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty University of Riau. Objective of this research is to determine the concentration of a test material or the level of an agent that produces a deleterious effect on Oreochromis sp. during a short-time exposure under controlled condition. In this study, static 96-h acute toxicity tests were carried out using Oreochromis sp. as test organisms. Probit analysis using the computer software EPA and graphical method were used to caculate the 96-h LC50 depending on data suitability. Results of the 96-h LC50 and Biological Savety Level of the industrial palm oil waste water were 126,06 ml/l and 1.26 ml/l respectively.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian toksisitas limbah cair minyak kelapa sawit dan sub lethal terhadap Oreochromis sp. telah dilakukan dari tanggal 1 November 2007-Maret 2008 di Laboratorium Teknologi Budidaya Perikanan Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Riau. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan konsentrasi suatu bahan beracun atau efek terhadap Oreochromis sp. dalam jangka pendek pada kondisi terkontrol. Uji statik akut selama 96 jam dilakukan dalam penelitian dengan ikan nila, Oreochromis sp sebagai organisme uji. Penentuan nilai LC-50 96 jam dilakukan dengan grafik Analisis Probit menggunakan soft-ware EPA Probit sesuai dengan data yang ada. Nilai LC-50 96 jam dan Batas Aman Biologi limbah cair industri minyak kelapa sawit berturut-turut adalah 126,06 ml/l dan 1.26 ml/l. Peningkatan konsentrasi limbah cair industri minyak kelapa sawit dapat menurunkan laju pertumbuhan mutlak dan harian ikan nila Oreochromis sp.
